FOUND, CULTIVATED, DISCARDED

(In Process Performance)

April 15 & 16, 8pm, 2016

PARSE is proud to present Found, Cultivated, Discarded, an evening-length exploration by New York-based dancer and choreographer, Erin Ellen Kelly. On April 15 and 16 at 8pm (doors at 7pm), Kelly will present a work-in-progress performance sited within a mixed media installation in the gallery that includes ephemera, photographs, sound, and video. Found, Cultivated, Discarded references natural materials, experiences, and environments, and embodies qualities of unique elements from locales as disparate as New York City; Cassis, France; and Clearlake, CA. Kelly’s movements additionally reference mythological creatures built from the landscapes of their origin and relays how traces and imprints of experience enter the body and inform artistic material.

At 9pm, following the performance on Saturday, April 16, Kelly will engage in a Q & A with Rotterdam/New Orleans-based curator Maaike Gouwenberg.
